The Henderson, a Zaha Hadid landmark, situated on the world’s most expensive plot of land, is officially set to open later this year in the heart of Hong Kong’s bustling business hub. The Hong Kong Fixer had a front-row seat in documenting this monumental project.

In 2020, Photographer and Director Paul Giggle approached us to direct and design a production solution for a vision film featuring Henderson’s CEO Martin Lee Ka Shing and his Bentley. The aim was to capture the live shots of Martin contemplating his newest creation.

Our founder David Attali worked hand in hand with Paul, who was stuck in Australia due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to direct Martin. 

Throughout the shoot there was a live feed where Paul could give both David and Martin creative directions, it was a first for the fixer team but one that was very cool. Think of this as remote production in action. While offices had their Zoom meetings, we broadcasted both the Arri Alexa Mini frame and a 360-degree immersive view of the set over an ad hoc network. Speeding atop Hong Kong’s island highways (literally HIGH ways) and tunnels with the coolest camera car ever, an open-top Mini Cooper, we also performed this broadcast on the go! When working with expensive equipment, everything must be secure but in the end, the stress was completely worth it, as the tracking shots we achieved were nothing short of impressive.

Though the pandemic may now seem like a distant memory, we faced significant challenges, including mandatory crew testing and social distancing. Ensuring safety was paramount on our set, providing a secure environment for both our VIP and our trusted crew.

The video is currently exhibited in an immersive show suite at Henderson Land’s HQ and has been viewed by thousands of people.

Since then, we have further collaborated with Henderson Land and flexed our creative muscles in video production for property the sector with “ A Smooth Home”, a show flat film for the Nothern metropolis based One Innovale project, introducing IoT experts  Mega Innovation.
